Country: Australia Region: Riverin

Varietal: Shiraz  Vintage: 2018

Colour: Red Style: Dry

Producer: De Bortoli

Description:

De Bortoli is one of the most famous family names in Australian winemaking, renowned throughout the world as producing high quality wines of character. The Deen Vat series is a new range which offers good varietal character and great value for money.

Winemaking:

Vineyards are carefully selected for a balance of fruit weight and ripeness. Harvest is carried out in the cool of the morning. Fruit is then carefully destemmed into Potters and fermented at 25-30?°C over 7-8 days. Pressed, racked and matured in new and older hogs head barrels for 12 months. Approximately 30% was kept in tank to retain those lovely fruits to blend with the oak matured portions.

Tasting Note:

Big dark colour in the glass with blackberry fruit on the nose and an excellent concentrated, but balanced mouthful to follow. Richly smooth, rounded with a peppery tang - designed for hearty meat and vegetable dishes.

Ageing Potential: 5 Years
