It’s a long story . . . . these guys went to great lengths to find this wine but after much searching, we believe they have struck the right balance of fruit and intensity with this vibrant, strawberry filled, Garnacha. Like every good story it lives long in the mouth and has a superb finish.
The vines are planted at 650m above sea level in predominately chalky soils. Hand harvest is followed by a string table selection. Wine is vinified with approximately 50% whole bunch, following the mille feuille technique where a layer of crushed grapes is placed on top of a layer of whole bunch, and so on. This gives lightness and freshness which combines well with the intense red fruit of Garnacha.
The Large Historia is a lively red colour expressing intense red fruits. Strawberries and raspberries on the nose and palate followed by some tertiary citrus and herb notes. Soft tannins and a very smooth, polished mouthfeel make this a really enjoyable expression of Garnacha.
