Ideally located in Pauillac, on the banks of the Gironde Estuary, the Pichon Comtesse vineyard covers 102 hectares (252 acres). Here, the vineyard and the wines are managed independently of each other. Each of the estate's plots are tended throughout the year with equal attention to detail and precision before the grapes are harvested and vinified separately. In perfect harmony with the Grand Vin, Réserve de Pichon Comtesse, the estate's second wine, offers another interpretation of the unique and singular style of this Pauillac Grand Cru Classé. This is the popular second wine of Château Pichon Lalande - previously known as Reserve de la Comtesse. There is always a high percentage of Merlot in the blend here which makes the wine soft and easy to drink when young. One of Bordeaux's most popular second labels and on top form in recent vintages.
