Campillo arose from a dream of creating a winery surrounded by vineyards, thus transferring the concept of Château to the land of Rioja wine.. An architectural space that opens to the Sierra Cantabria and Laguardia. When you climb the large staircase and cross its doors you feel all that led Julio Faustino Martínez to share his two passions, wine and architecture, in Campillo.
Bodegas Campillo is one of the few examples of the Château model in Rioja. Surrounded by 50 hectares of vineyards and sheltered by the Sierra Cantabria, Bodegas Campillo is located in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, in the medieval town of Laguardia.
This is a young fruity style of wine that has only spent 6 months in oak allowing the fruit to be the main focus.
Tasting Note : Youthful ruby red in appearance, on the nose the dark spicy fruits are to the fore and on the palate there is a soft silkiness that leads to a really pleasant finish.
Food Matches: Try this with tomato-based pasta , I know but it works.
