Pour Mon Pere Languedoc Red

Country: France   Region: Languedoc

Varietal: Grenache, Syrah, Carignon

Vintage: 2018   Colour: Red   Style: Dry

Producer: Pierre Fabre

Description:

This cuvée, Pour Mon Pere (For My Father), is named in homage to Pierre's father, who passed away in 2009. Made of 55% Carignan and 5% Grenache, both from 80 years old vines - 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre, both from 30 years old vines planted in Granite, schist and limestone soils. The grapes are hand-harvested in small boxes and manually sorted in the cellar before being de-stemmed and pressed. They are then fermented separately in concrete tanks with native yeast, before being blended and aged in new and older French oak barrels for 12 months. Light filtering before bottling.

Tasting Note:

  • Beautifully plush and silky on the medium-full-bodied palate, we just loved the mingling of red fruits, black fruits, licorice, flowers, minerals and mocha in both the nose and mouth. This has a very refined style for what you would consider a 'country' red, and will be great to recommend to Chateauneuf-du-Pape lovers, or even adventurous Cabernet fans.

 Biodynamic, Organic, Vegan and Vegetarian.
