Grüner Veltliner is the most widely planted white grape variety in Austria, which is Hermann Seifried’s homeland. We were thrilled to finally be able to grow Grüner Veltliner here in New Zealand after it had passed through the long quarantine process. In 2008 we chose our Brightwater Vineyard to plant a small area of these very special vines. More recently, we have established Grüner Veltliner vines in our Edens Road vineyard.
Seifried, pioneering family winegrowers from Nelson, New Zealand. All aspects of production from propagation, planting, viticulture, harvest, winemaking, bottling, warehousing and dispatch are all done on site under the watchful eye of the Seifried family. Seifried was the first Nelson winery accredited with sustainable winegrowing.

Seifried Nelson Grüner Veltliner is a vibrant, sustainably produced New Zealand white wine featuring classic varietal notes of white pepper, crunchy green apple, and citrus blossom. It offers a dry, textured palate with hints of stone fruit, such as peach or apricot, and a crisp, mineral-driven finish
