Chateau Begadan Cru Bourgeois Medoc Bordeaux

Country: France Region: Bordeaux (Medoc)

Varietal: Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon/ Cabernet Franc

Vintage: 2019 Colour: Red Style: Dry

Producer: Chateau Begadan

Description:

Château Begadan is located between Begadan, the small rural town which gave its name to the Château and Valeyrac, along the Garonne River. Here the Medoc's poor gravel soil is perfect for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, the backbone of the wines of the Médoc.

  • The winemaking at Château Begadan is very traditional with knowledge that has been passed down three generations
  • This fantastic 2014 vintage is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon giving rich black fruits, with 40% Merlot softening the palate
  • Winner of a gold medal at Brussels and awarded 89 points by The Wine Advocate

Tasting Note:

Tasting note: On the nose, there are aromas of fresh raspberry, cherry, blackcurrant, forest floor and an elegant minerality. Well-balanced and full bodied on the palate with smooth tannins and a good length. A classic Médoc that would be fantastic with a traditional Sunday Roast, mushroom risotto or a selection of aged cheeses.

Food Matches: Red Meat / Venison / Soft Cheese / Venison
