From the heart of the Haut-Médoc, Château Croix du Trale 2020 is a classic blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, aged for 12 months in French oak. It’s medium-bodied, with ripe red and black fruits, a touch of spice, and well-judged oak. There’s a bit of chocolate and smoke too, and a nice freshness to keep it all in balance. This is drinking well already and will hold nicely to 2033.
The estate is a proper family affair, run by Stéphane and Sandra, along with their daughters Laurie and Chloé. They’ve been building the domaine together over the years and are part of the Cru Bourgeois group of independent growers in Bordeaux.
